General information on Scientific Council on problems of Philology under Republican Council for Coordination of Scientific Research
According to order №18/3 of the Presidium of ANAS on 19 november 2014 there was founded 14 Scientific Councils as well as Scientific Council on Problems of Philology under Republican Council for Coordination of Scientific Research in order to exercise new scientific directions, coordinate scientific investigations and ensure development of science and education, at the same time to train highly skilled scientific personnel , increase integration of Azerbaijani science to international scientific arena, efficiency of innovation policy and scientific investigations taking into concideration inclination of development of science and technology.
Philology has important history of development and rich traditions in our country and investigations on this important sphere of science are in progress nowadays. Every year plenty of dissertation themes are defended on different spheres of philology. The main duty of Scientific Councils as well as Scientific Council on Problems of Philology under Republican Council for Coordination of Scientific Research consists of making the first assessment on this sphere. If former councils existed in different spheres of science had an aim to prevent instant repetition of themes investigated in dissertations , the sphere of activity and competency of Scientific Councils are sufficiently widened nowadays. Dissertation themes on 23 specialities on the spheres of history of literature, theory of literature, textual criticism, folklore,bibliography, documentation, linguistics and other areas are seriously analyzed and investigated first of all at Scientific Council on Problems of Philology in all corresponding Scientific-Investigation Institutes of the Republic and scientific establishments, as well as in all High education hearthes of the country.
Scientific Councils as well as Scientific Council on Problems of Philology under Republican Council for Coordination of Scientific Research is valid at the National Museum of Azerbaijan Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi of ANAS. The Council consists of the most famous scientists on philology of Azerbaijan. According to statute the meetings of Scientific Councils of different spheres of science have to be held four times in a year. But in the period of Council’s activity in 2015 and 2016 years philologists assembled 8 and 10 times for discussion of investigated themes. In 2015 year 234 documents on philosophy and Ph.D have been discussed in 8 meetings, 197 of them are affermed.
As seen from the numbers traditionally a great number of people willing to defend dissertation on philology outnumber the other spheres of sciences. But in compare to previous years the scale of these research themes is widened and significant progress is observed in complience with the highest standarts of science in the modern world of new research.
