On October 5 opened an auditorium named of one of the founders of the renowned translator, linguist-scientist Ismikhan Rahimov, at the initiative of the rector of this university, Honored Scientist, Academician Kamal Abdullayev.

K.Abdullayev informed about the activities of I.Rahimov and steps taken for independence, adding that the opening of a lecture on behalf of the prominent representatives of the liberation movement, Ismikhan Rahimov, one of the founders of the antisoviet "Yildirim" organization, is a remarkable event for the university. Both lectures and important events will be held in this audience.

K.Abdullayev noted that, scientist’s activity was highly appreciated at the state level by great leader Heydar Aliyev. Speaking about Rahimov's activity as a pedagogue and translator, the rector shared his memories about him.

Chairman of the Culture Committee of the Milli Majlis, Director of the National Museum of Literature of Azerbaijan, academician Rafael Huseynov said that the opening of the auditorium named after Ismikhan Rahimov was one of the successful steps undertaken by the leadership of Azerbaijan University of Languages.

The scientist's daughter, Sevda Rahimova, expressed her gratitude to the university administration for the initiative.
