An international conference titled "Contribution of Islamic Solidarity and Interreligious Dialogue to the Peace and multicultural life" was held in Madrid, Spain on November 6. The Azerbaijani delegation attended the conference, which was held under President Ilham Aliyev's "Islamic Solidarity Year".

The head of Evsen Group, Ali Evsen, who opened a conference, organized jointly by the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Caucasian Muslims Office, the Spanish Ministry of Justice and the Evsen Foundation, spoke about the importance of the event.

Afterwards, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office, conveyed the greetings and best wishes of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to participants of the international conference as a step to increase confidence in peace.

Notwithstanding the ongoing crisis, Sheikh ul-Islam reminded that multiculturalism, or Islam Solidarity, announced by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, served all mankind.

Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade noted that Azerbaijan recognizes and respects the territorial integrity of all states in the world, including Spain. Despite the fact that 20% of our country is under the occupation of Armenia, our people wants a fair settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan within the norms of international law.

Later on, Israeli Chief Rabbi Shlomo Moshe Amar emphasized the importance of the unity of religious confessions in the fight against terrorism.

Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, Mubariz Gurbanli, called the idea of Islamic solidarity as an urgent topic of the day and underlined that it was never directed against other cultures. The main goal here is to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation on the basis of internal stability in Muslim countries, which can make a great contribution not only to the Islamic world, but also to peace and prosperity all over the world.

Rector of Baku State University, academician Abel Maharramov noted that multiculturalism was taught in all faculties of the university. He noted that at the faculty of Theology at Baku State University classes on all religions of the world are held. There is also a Scientific Research Center for Islamic Studies in the university.

Azerbaijani ambassador to Spain Anar Maharramov emphasized the importance of the event held in Madrid and emphasized the importance of human values.

MP Rafael Huseynov, Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States Ramil Hasanov, Spanish Minister of Justice Rafael Katala Polo, Minister of Social Equality of Israel Gila Gamliel, Chairman of the Spanish Muslim Society Riay Tatari Baki and others noted that the goal is to help prevent religious activities.

A presentation of the painting was held within the event.

At the end, a joint intergovernmental memorandum was signed.
